WE CAN HELP!
No matter how well-meaning, or how well educated they are–no one really knows what it is to suffer a life-changing stroke except a survivor, and by extension, their caregiver partner. And frankly, all strokes are life-changing events though certainly some more than others. Take it from we survivors–for nearly all – there is an aftermath to be addressed!
For that reason, we have innovated a program called Life Coaching for Stroke Survivors™ (and their caregiver partner). We have learned so many coping actions, so many strategies for success, how to successfully advocate for stroke, some new game plans, and yes, even some tricks to help in each of our journeys.
And now, we wish to share our knowledge and thoughts so you too, can have a constructive New Life with many unforeseen new opportunities.
To be clear–these are our opinions as stroke survivors! We do not claim in any way to be medical professionals. However, we know many of those wonderful people and can guide you in your selection, and management of those professionals. And with all due respect, we have found that this management is especially important to a maximized outcome because stroke treatment, at all stages, is very geocentric.
Every survivor is different, and every stroke is different in type, intensity, and how it was treated at the outset, including speed. Also, recovery treatment varies widely based on the stroke itself, where you were initially treated, the competence and training of your physicians and therapists, and your financial situation, including insurance, among others.
From observation and experience, we have learned some governing principles which have guided the development of our renowned Pillars of Stroke Recovery. These Pillars have been successfully presented at the World Stroke Organization in Montreal and at the American Congress of Rehabilitative Medicine in Chicago, among others.
We use these Pillars, combined with each specific stroke survivor situation to, together, create a personalized ROADMAP TO SUCCESS. A guide to help the survivor/caregiver team as they move forward towards a constructive new future.
We leave you with one last thought – recovery takes determination, patience, and your hard work – so, having said that…
