Stroke Recovery Foundation is pleased to announce that it will be holding an Online Auction to raise money to support our Stroke Awareness, Prevention and Recovery initiatives.
With World Stroke Day being October 29th AND Giving Tuesday being November 29th I thought it fitting at this time of year that we ask you to open your minds, and by extension your wallets to support our efforts to increase awareness to the seriousness of this ubiquitous disease.
The Foundation’s stroke awareness and prevention initiatives are designed to reduce the incidence of stroke which impacts millions. Remember, it’s not only the person who has the stroke who is impacted, but all of those around them including family members, friends, employers, everyone – their entire community. Most particularly, the caregiver partner who maybe a spouse, a partner, child, or parent – believe me, their life just got upended.
And take it from me, you don’t want what I had, or my wife Debbie has had to deal with.
Amazingly for many, it all could be avoided if a healthy lifestyle was lead prior to the stroke, and that’s a big part of our message. Stroke professionals say 80% of strokes are avoidable, that’s 4 out of 5 strokes could have been avoided. And remember, 10% of strokes – approximately 100,000 per year in America, occur in people under 50 years of age. HELP IS TO SPREAD THE WORD!
The auction will begin Monday November 21st and end November 29th, Giving Tuesday.
